Campus Cooks Attends The Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisers Annual Meeting

by | Dec 8, 2016

Campus Cooks recently exhibited at the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors Annual Meeting in Boston, MA. For the past 40 years, AFA has provided a community of support, research, and collaboration for fraternity/sorority advisors. Regional Business Development Manager James Swanson and Client Ambassador Mary Kate Lobough attended.

AFA is the leading voice in aligning fraternity/sorority and higher education experiences, and we are proud to have joined this association. Mary Kate commented on her experience; “I have been a member of the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors for 11 years, and this was my 8th Annual Meeting. I have taken part in the conference in different roles – graduate/campus professional, headquarters professional, presenter, and volunteer but it was a completely new and exciting experience for me to be a part of the exhibit hall. I love the Association because it offers professionals and volunteers a forum to collaborate on improving all facets of the fraternal experience.”

Following the annual meeting, James shared, “It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with some of our clients and professional partners. We have many great partnerships with campus professionals, volunteers, and management companies, so this was an opportunity to discuss how we can serve as resources to each other and create new relationships. I had great discussions on the challenges that can come with housing for volunteers and professionals so that we can serve as a valuable and trusted partner for more campuses.”

“Since this was a new experience, I am grateful we took part in this conference and for our fellow exhibitors for sharing their knowledge and experience. I was fortunate to kick off my annual meeting experience by facilitating an Advance Program sponsored by Tri Sigma. After this opportunity and seeing all the other amazing educational sessions and development offered, I can’t wait to continue developing the resources Campus Cooks can offer volunteers and professionals in this association.”

We at Campus Cooks are so grateful for the AFA Central Office Staff who have been so helpful and for all the fantastic volunteers who made the annual meeting possible. We are already looking forward to the 2017 Meeting in Atlanta, GA.
